>sleduyushly< or who is next on sol asylum is anton zap. we are pleased to be closing out 2014 with the delightfully well-crafted deep house that resonates within anton. we start with talking a simplistic yet deep and ever-evolving atmosphere with peculiar echoes and noises that speak to us through constantly moving metallic percussion. next rublewood with its trotting wooden clicks and oscillating claps we morph through the track until the euphoric themes expand bringing us to the next level. in my lesson, anton channels a 90s ambience with a definite feel for funk. arpeggiated synths with just a hint of acid mixed with harmonic pads and unconventional horn riffs bring this eccentric soundtrack together. finally her lesson brings us to more experimental territory with a futuristic outer galactic journey through space and time where a metronomic kick, walking bassline and gleaming pads transport us to another dimension.

the mighty bohari return with another in their split-single series, showcasing new and exciting artists. we have no idea who barrut fulsara is and he wont tell us a thing - all we know is that he has been in the game for a long time, and that this new moniker is for his excursions into deeper territory. were just happy he chose bokhari as the outlet. joe europe on the flip delivers the kind of synth-laden quirky house that we love at bokhari and were pleased for this beautiful track to finally see the light of day.

f = ma is an hard techno ep, dynamic and pressing both for side a and side b. a two-track ep that was inspired by the physics formula s second law of motion which states that the acceleration of a body is directly proportional and in the same direction of the force acting on it, while it is inversely proportional to its mass . the track on side a, entitled -massa- is a techno track, properly basic, structured on a massive scale, and that is why it was chosen as the track for side a minded for a dance floor set. a piece that starts with decision, full of body and massive , and that is why was named massa. the track on the b side, -accelerazione- is more quite, but another dance track for this great disc. a bit more slender and smooth, with broad- acceleration in a dance floor moment certainly forwarded more than the cervical part of a set, to be spent at the end to throw the disc to the latest beats.

side a: ghetto juice - another nice techno soul groove by eddie fowlkes, with the deep bassline with the laughter of of streets of detroit and crazy horn lead to get the ladies dancing.. side b: sunday morning - this cool swing late saturday night groove with a fade in vocal of -easy like sunday morning- sample will definitely have hands in the air, brilliant track by mr. fowlkes!

continuing a strong line of afro inspired works, men like pedestrian & jasperdrum drop another scintillating technoid excursion on 2nd drop. deeper, moodier with dynamically carved esoteric angles, *origins* moves forward from the superb kalakuta, the afrobeat meets bass music bomb supported by giles peterson, scuba, midland, mr scruff and many more, from last year, to deliver a heads down destroyer. off kilter, wonky and expertly crafted, pedestrian & jasperdrums *origins* is pure class, led by a host of syncopated percussion, haunting flute lines and distorted vocal samples, this is what fela would have sounded like if he had teamed up with carl craig in 2014! on the flip we welcome alix perez, best known for his dnb production but widely talented as shown by his arp101 outings on the likes of eglo. here, alix takes the tools to kalakuta, transforming the originals afrocentricity into a tense, punchy roller, dominated by a bass line which literally jumps in to your ears. toss in a stabby synth line, rifle shot drums and plenty of bass with space, this a beautifully crafted refix.

after the huge success of *say no more* featuring azari & iiis cedric at the beginning of the year, birmingham bred subb-an is back on board crosstown rebels to deliver yet another incredible release. *vapour trails* is a solid, driving club track with that distinct subb-an sound featuring highly captivating vocals from amsterdams the million plan. also directed straight at the dancefloor with a deep hypnotic breakdown, the *terrace dub* perfectly fits into the series of terrace remixes the talented producer has released lately. specifically requested as remixer by subb-an, legend matthew herbert delivers a completely new musical adaptation with fantastic use of the vocal that plays out as the track constantly evolves. on the b-side *oasis* leads with swinging grooves, progressing into prominent hats, a unique stabbing bassline and a trippy vocal from whitney fierce formerly of hercules & love affair.

following on from her highly acclaimed ett lp on editions mego klara lewis presents 4 new works which further her signature explorations of field recordings, electronics, rhythm, sound and atmosphere. here lewis exemplifies her uncanny ability to harness the world outside in order to reconstruct and re-present this as amorphous musical matter. these 4 new tracks exude a certain ambiguity where standard signposts such as rhythm, ambience, texture, light and dark remain as elusive as they are present. whilst bypassing passive or photographic representation of the source material these works withhold a strong emotional quality resulting in a confident and at times brutal musical manifestation. as suggested by the title, msuic resides in a zone at once familiar and slightly off kilter, a world of lewis devising in which the listener is warmly encouraged to enter and explore. msuic is another superb collection of music as fantastic matter.

after the success of their first release charmin are back with another high quality wax. this offering showcases the talents of florist and close friend of the imprint tilman, all pressed up on heavyweight vinyl with a lovingly designed cover. the ep kicks off with “proof nothing” which is a statement of intent. deep, churning piano chords overlaid with delayed vocal samples all underpinned with a solid beat and deep bass. next up “raw” does exactly what it says on the tin. this is a stripped down thumper with crunchy claps and an infectious groove. “once again” has a looser, more percussive feel to it with machine gun snares rattling off overt the top of a killer chord line. bringing things to a close is “mood swings” which builds brooding atmospheres and eerie vocal snippets. all in all this ep carries on the good work of this exciting new label. charmin continues its journey to bring you uncompromising, underground house music of the highest order.

the efforts of label chief max_mand attic musics own fabrizio lapiana as so far proven to be a potent combination. sharing wax space for the last two releases on m_rec ldts discreet new 10 inch vinyl series, the pair have so far turned in a stirring duplet of some of the finest, fully-formed pieces of modern techno music. now, for the third installment, max_m steps aside to let a brand new outfit take the helm. the mysterious and so far unreleased overall severitynestles comfortably into the a-side with another swollen, undulating melodic arrangement, true to form of what we have seen from the series so far. then on the b-side, fabrizio lapiana offers more of his dark and groovy techno, toned in what has become a signature splash of vintage british-redolent electronica.

on one of his many legendary trips to la, oliver dollar found himself entrenched in yet another spiral of digging for samples, listening to oddities and generally funking things up with his pal brillstein. it was on this particular trip that aint im clean was born. a track perfect for all occasions, beginning, middle or possibly ending.
